Murf,
You
mentioned the best coffee in the world, which always tugs at my taste
buds, since I'm a coffee fanatic. I really enjoy full bodied darker
roast coffees than the normal American blends. There's a little
deli up in Little Italy in Boston that my sister goes to for me.
The fella that owns the place has been roasting his own coffee beans for
so many years that everybody's lost count. Anyway, his espresso
roast is to die for. My sister manages to get to his place about
twice a year, and picks up 2 or 3 lbs each time she goes and sends them
to me. As soon as I get the beans they go into sealed glass jars,
and you just gotta believe me when I tell ya, when you crack the lid on
the glass jar, the aroma is pure heaven. Oh yeah, when brewed, I
get anywhere from 1/8' to 1/4" of crema on the top. For Kona
coffee, some of the best in the world can be had from a little
place on the California Coast, in the town of Fort Bragg. Company
called Thanksgiving Coffee, their web site is:
http://www.thanksgivingcoffee.com/.
Not only Kona, but just about any bean you want. I used to live
about 20 miles away from them in the little town of Willits, Ca. We
still have friends in Ft. Bragg, and they send us coffee every once in a
while from Thanksgiving Coffee. Then there's a buddy of mine who
lives in Hawaii, and sends me coffee from one of the local coffee
roasters there. MMmmmmmmmmm, mmmmmmm,
mmmmmmm-mmmmmmm......

- You southern boys don't make scrapple and puding? Even Byard
grew up in PA Dutch country with the good stuff. You probably claim
to know where the best pretzels come from. Byard and I are only 30
minutes apart on that one. Stream food and beer are my
specialties. Go first Byard, its your list. Oh! The
best coffee in the world just came into my hands but its not
Starbucks. Truth be known its roasted in Ottawa and called Reunion
Island (origin of coffee near Madagascar) by one of the top five roasting
chefs on the planet who picks out the beans himself. Yes
listmeister, samples aplenty of Starbucks to Reunion and some other
brands coming your way once the box gets some pean! uts inside.
Send me your snail addy again since I left it at work. Forgot, the
best ham I ever had was sugar cured from my granddaddy's smokehouse and
them Virginians have no clue. Biscuit, ham, honey, oh my!
