I agree Paul I always spin and clip too, spars compared to regular muddlers.

The originator of the Rolled Muddler is a friend, Tom Murray. Tom originated this pattern for fishing searun cutts from the beach. However, it's obviously a good pattern for fry imitations anywhere. The original has a small, but otherwise normal (at least for me), Muddler head, clipped underneath (I flatten the underneath of all Muddler heads).
