Eric, I don't want to rain on your parade but when Johnny Horton sang "When It's Springtime in Alaska, It's 40 Below" he was only half kidding. Ice out on the Peninsula is usually from mid to late April and the rivers usually don't settle into a fishable condition until around Memorial Day. I lived in Alaska for several years and could never plan a Kenai trip much before Memorial Day. That was an early trip for us because the interior streams don't settle until later in June.
