Dean,

I used to live in Culver City. My office was about a block off of Sepulveda Blvd.
They tore down a building next door, and nature imediately started to take over:
horrible stickery vines, and tumble weeds mainly. Next some very large doves came in,
and then a pair of hawks started feeding on the doves. Next there were burrowing owls
and rattle snakes. All in about 6 months. Really cool area. Of course the river was
in a concrete trench (was this the culvert that the city was named for?) But cool
none the less. I had a lizard about 12 inches long living in my rubber tree in my
back yard, and tarantulas as big as my hand in all of the bushes and banana trees.

Steve,
In Maryland
