I'm in a position right now where I'm in need of a new fly rod and reel,
and I'm a bit confused with some of this stuff, so I'm hoping somebody can
help.

This fall, I'll be traveling overseas and a guy who lives in the area I'll
be visiting told me I'll need something in the way of a 10' 7 or 8 weight
rod. It'll have to be a travel rod as well, and I'll need a reel to go
along with it.

Since I won't be making my way to this area on a regular basis, I'm trying
to purchase a rod and reel that'll be useful in another application (that
kinda rod would be overkill for the local trout). Ideally, I'd like to get
ahold of something that'll be useful for light-medium duty saltwater
fishing.

I've got plenty of heavy trolling rods and that sort of thing, but the
baitcasting answer to saltwater seems to be heavy rods (easy enough) and
reels made of corrosion resistant materials. I haven't done an exhaustive
search by any means, but I'm having some trouble locating fly fishing
equipment thats sold exclusively for saltwater fishing. I know its out
there and that once I clear a certain line weight, its more or less *got*
to be engineered with saltwater in mind, but I just need some direction.
Could anybody point me toward any websites that deal exclusively in
saltwater fly fishing tackle? Are rods for use in saltwater typically sold
as being for use in those conditions or is it safe to assume that as long
as the rod is made for heavy enough line, it'll be allright to use it in
saltwater? Seriously, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks a lot in advance!

John
