pictures of winger Mayflies, and am wondering if the wings are tied in prior
to the hackle or after? And what the process is for getting the
wing to stand in this upright position? Thanks for your

The wings are tied in after the
body and before the hackle, back-to-back at the same time, using the thread to
pinch and position them upright. Then I wrap the hackle snugly in front
of and in back of the wings a couple of times to lock them in place. I
do not figure-8 between the wings.
