I started tying flies because I flyfished. A teacher at my school ran
classes at lunchtime . It was nothing extravagant. We lashed fur, feather
and anything else we could get onto the hook, ending up with wierd and
wonderful creations. But it was a begining with a grounding in the basics.
It was a foundation upon which to build.
That was thirty years ago and I may have progressed and I may have learned
something. I still tie flies because I flyfish. I also run flytying classes
for youngsters at the school where I teach.
Its nice to think I can put something back.
All the best
Graeme.
