Thomas, for some one whom I never see post pertinent information I give you
the same message,
, excuse me, but if you noticed, almost every post was intended as "Jest"
to John. We know him and love him as a very valuable member of the group. If
you reed the posts as stated you will know this. I personally think you owe
him an apology.
Nuff said,
Jimi

Here Here ! I agree entirely. Though I in no way support the name calling
or other distasteful behavior, it is entirely useless to post information
about a fly on a fly tying list if you have no intention of telling us how
to tie the fly. In the future should a situation like this arise, I think it
would be best if you keep your secret flies to your self. Tom Aufiero

John,

I've been on this list for about 2 years now, and although I recently have
not been participating too much, I do read the messages and I have gained a
lot of infomation that has been very helpful for me in fly tying and fly
fishing. I tied some good flies and caught some good fish as a direct
result of the quality tips I got from the fine folks on this list.

Interestingly enough, your series of posts about the bluegill fly was the
first time, excluding the occasional name calling or bad language, I noticed
posts that were not intended to be helpful to other memebers. When I began
reading about this fly, I was intrigued. Discovering proven patterns are
like finding a little bit of gold. Flies that work consistently well on
fish like bluegills are especially good, because they not only allow for
good action on panfish, but they also help children and new fly-fishers get
hooked on the sport.

It is apparent to me that other folks on this list share my opinion since I
saw a great volume of posts on this thread over the past few days, with some
of the posts asking for the pattern with references to using that fly to
fish with kids.

Although you stated you would provide the pattern in the chatroom at 11pm
and you needed permission from the creator to disclose the information and
you tied this for the world to see at an expo, the general population of the
list probably missed out on the opportunity to learn that pattern.

It seems to me that if you did not intend to educate the list about this
miracle pattern, you should not have mentioned it at all. By stating this
pattern exists, but refusing to post the information, you didn't do anything
but waste time with this thread. It's only fly.

Bob

Well, Phil, I do not appreciate being called a redneck for one. Second I
tied this fly at a tying expo for all the world to see. The fly is not an
original creation of mine, and the creator, when he sent me this fly, didn't
want me publicizing it. I would be more than happy to let you all know, its
up to him. I emailed him earlier and if anyone who wishes to know wants to
meet in the chat room around 11 tonight (Michigan time) We will tell you (if
he says its OK). I promised him it would not get publicized. Hell he may
even be able to scan a PIC for people. I know he sent me a PIC a week ago.
