Though I in no way support the name calling or other distasteful behavior, it is entirely useless to post information about a fly on a fly tying list if you have no intention of telling us how to tie the fly. In the future should a situation like this arise, I think it would be best if you keep your secret flies to your self. It is apparent to me that other folks on this list share my opinion since I saw a great volume of posts on this thread over the past few days, with some of the posts asking for the pattern with references to using that fly to fish with kids. Although you stated you would provide the pattern in the chatroom at 11pm and you needed permission from the creator to disclose the information and you tied this for the world to see at an expo, the general population of the list probably missed out on the opportunity to learn that pattern. It seems to me that if you did not intend to educate the list about this miracle pattern, you should not have mentioned it at all. By stating this pattern exists, but refusing to post the information, you didn't do anything but waste time with this thread. It's only fly.
