I got a book called "Handbook of Hatches," by Dave Hughes. He describes the life
cycle of the major aquatic insects from egg to egg. He tells what the larvae, nymphs,
adults or whatever do, what they eat and what they look like. And where they live in
the water, such as on plants, under rocks, swimming along or tumbling.

Hughes then describes the flies that work for each stage, gives recipes, and tells how
to fish them.

The Handbook is a good book, slim, well written, and packed with information.
