If you've ever tried to get Kool Aide out of your carpet or table cloth, you will learn quickly that it is absolutely colorfast when dry  It will fade a  bit with time and being in the water, but holds up really well. I dye small hen necks with it all the time..you can get colors this way that no one else  has. I've learned that Wool-ease yarn, alpaca and dog/goat animal hair as well as feathers dyes wonderfully..and f a grayish yarn will make a very deep color when Kool Aid dyed.
