If you use vinegar, use white vinegar.  I don't usually use any.  Vinegar is a wetting 
agent, and some say it helps absorb.

Keep in mind that grease is the enemy of water based dyes.  The cleaner the fiber that 
goes in, the better.

You can mix up different colors to get any shade you want, but keep in mind if you're 
dying over a colored fiber, it will come out different.  It's fun to play with, and 
cheap.  It doesn't smell bad, and won't kill the cats or kids.
