I see Joyce & Deb have already piped in with a few options on the jungle cock problem. I know many patterns say they are optional, but it just doesn't look right, ya know? Here is a link I've found helpful in this type of fly, I know that Deb knows of some as well that she has shared with me.

If you scroll down to the Cheap Atlantics section, they have several recipes that do not use the jungle and still manage to look beautiful. Many include step-by-step instructions with good quality pictures. Scroll down to the Streamers section and click on "Demon" for a great step-by-step on construction that can be applied to many flies.
I've also fallen for these flies. I think it has something to do with the artistic beauty of combining form with function... You can always mat/frame them for your own walls, or use them for gifts.
Tell Amanda "Good Luck" on making up her mind, that's always a hard part for me. :^ )
