Jackie, Last season I used furled leaders on all my rods between 2 weight and 6. I was very happy with their performance. Some people find that they straighten *too* well, but I didn't have that difficulty when using limp tippet. I'm looking forward to constructing a few from thread, that sounds quite interesting.
