Several have ask the same questions so I thought I would answer to the list's to save sending 60+ e-mails.
Weight, Light, I haven't actually weighed them, maybe Tony could shed some light on this. The shaft bushing is machined out of 7075-T3511 aircraft aluminum square stock. The jaws on the vise are machined out of 2024-T3 aluminum stock. Roughly it takes me about 35 hours from bare stock to finished reel and about 25 hours on the vise. All wood is stabilized. I am working on a drag system but am not satisfied with any of the tests so far. I am considering doing some Sterling Silver inlays in a couple of the new ones I am working on, ( what I used to do to knives). Hope this answers the questions, please feel free to ask me more. As I can get better tools and equipment I will be able to do more with them. Hope to see you at the Sowbug. Jimi
