Thanks, Mark. I was unaware of the winging fiber. Has to be interesting stuff based on the qualities of the body fur fibers. I particularly like the colors available for the product, and as you mentioned, the sparkle and texture are excellent. If you are still around, what is the length of the winging fiber? Also what amount do you get in the package and for how much $ per package?

The rarity of this product I think has to do with the fact it is manufactured in Japan, and the company's marketing and distribution are minimal in the USA. I have heard of this product under the SAAP name for quite a while, so it has been around. It is currently marketed under the Capps brand.

I am convinced this product is not a gimmick. Big trout were slamming patterns made of this stuff last fall. It looks as great in the water as it does on the tying bench.

Since you like the SAAP Body Fur so well, thought I'd mention the good results
I've had using SAAP Wing Fiber. This stuff has a really good feel to it, is
easy to handle, has better texture than polypro, and more sparkle than antron.
The fibers themselves sparkle and there are also strands of flat reflective
material (light mylar) in each small hank.

So far I've only seen it at Dan Bailey's, where I bought a big supply since it
seemed to be rare. I'm glad that other places are selling it too.
