I just got back from a trip to the local Sally Beauty Supply store. If you
haven't cruised the isles of one of these stores you should. You may want
to take the wife along for appearances sake <VBG> I found that they
carried Manic Panic hair dye. The stuff previously mentioned by one of our
fellow VFBers. It does come in some wild colors for $6.99. I haven't tried
it out yet. They also have something I saw at the shows and heard about in
my United Fly Tyers meetings. Synthetic Wig Hair for braiding. It comes in
VERY large bundles for .99 - 1.99. The guys I saw use it for streamer
fibers. You can blend it with flash or angel hair type materials to give it
more life. I saw them create some pretty neat saltwater baitfish flies out
of this. If you have an ethnic hair supply store in your area the selection
is even better. They tend to carry some more of the vivid colors. I also
found some pretty interesting nail colors for use on the flies.
