I agree completely. I tried for quality and tied several "practice" flies at the start to get the spacing, dubbing, wing length, etc correct before starting on the swap bugs. I think she just liked the pretty colors of some of them. If what you tied was your first attempt at this style of fly, you sure are a quick learner! Your flies look great!

You're fly was very nice! These were challenge to tie if you had never tied
one before. I wasn't completely happy with mine but I sure enjoyed it and
could see some improvement by the time I got to the last fly.... :0) It
also "sparked" a new interest. I picked up one of Don Bastians flies at a
show over the winter. That will humble any tier attempting these.
