I'm looking at buying a Redington Red Start fly rod. I already have a 3 weight and like it. But I want a bigger rod to fish for steelhead, salmon and pike. So I'm looking at a 9 or 10 weight with a fighting butt. The guy at the fly shop said I should probably go with a 9 because I will be able to cast with it better a 10 may be overdoing it. Does anybody have any input on this?
