Eric I have for years used a Cortland 9' 8/9 wt black diamond rod for pike, carp, bonefish ,and king salmon. the rod has been more than enough rod for any of them. I have a custom built 10' 10wt and find it more rod than I need and will wear you down in a full day of fishing.
