I really enjoyed yesterday. Weather drip on us a few times, but what the heck, kept everyone else off the stream besides us. Heh, Eddie wasn't the only one that took a fall. I slid down the back side of a rock into the deep hole that was chest deep. Only difference was, I was wearing chest waders.
Little no see ums. Oh Eddie, BTW, I did see some midges on the river yesterday. I forgot to mention it while we were out there. No surface activity to go along with 'em. but they were definitely there. That was when I was sitting on that rock up above the rapids you "explored".

Met up with Mark Wendt near my house(and home waters) this morning to throw around a few flies. Headed down to the stream around 9 AM and Mark caught a nice sized Rainbow...about 12 inches. I hooked into a small trout and he took me under a rock and broke me off...thats okay, i didnt want him anyways.
We slowly began working our way up stream, casting at all the holes and telling fish stories, which Mark has some great ones of. Took him up to where the fish used to be everywhere, but didnt have as much luck as I had hoped. I caught 2 rainbows using olive wolly buggers, along the cut side of a bank along a log. Mark didnt catch anything, but was fishing up stream.
I was walking up towards him, and had to cross the stream where some heavy current was. Boy, did I take a fall....big time. Right on my butt, in about 3 foot deep water. I sprung out and looked around...Mark and the DNR officer hadnt seen me take that one...but it was cold. High temps of the day were 50, with scattered showers and the sun is just now peaking through around 4:30. Had a fun time with Mark, and nice to meet at least someone from the VFB.
There is my report. Anyone else get out today?
Mark...My mom's truck is in the shop, she broke down in ellicot city. Sorry about having to leave. Was doing a little bit of yard work today, just to look busy, and there were bugs all over the place. As in, a pain to be outside because there were gnats and such in your hair, eyes, nose, and mouth. Dang...
