---I went out too, and caught only a cold. There were trout feeding all around, but I couldn't hook up on any of them. In fact, they didn't just spurn my offerings, but actually knocked them with their heads. Knocked them out of the way. This was in fairly shallow lake water, could they have been bass?
Caught 12 good sized blue gills yesterday on a black soft hackle (partridge hackle) They loved it. A fish every second or third cast until they chewed it up completely. Interestingly, there was no action at all until the sun settled to the tree tops, then all the action happened in the next 1/2 hour. After that it was back to total quiet/.
