Those in the Michigan Rendezvous will see my pattern - it's one I used
to buy until this year, and it is very successful. Vary the color of
the deer hair and you can use it as a hex:

Hook: Mustad 9671 (6-10) or comparable - can be longer if you want
Thread: yellow, black or brown
Tail: 2-3 moose mane
Body: Deer hair stacked
Parachute Post: white deer hair
Hackle to match

Tie in the moose mane tails, then take thread up to before eye. Tie in
deer hair with tips pointing towards bend of hook. Should extend
slightly past the bend. Allow deer hair to spin around shank, but
controlling the tips. Spiral wrap hair down to bend, then spiral wrap
back. Tie in parachute post and hackle.

Living would be easier if men showed as much patience at
home as they do when they're fishing.
