, a man in my neck of the woods named calrence roberts,  came up with a pattern  over 40 years ago known as the roberts drake , its a very simple extremely effective tie and can be tied in various sizes and colors to imitate any mayflie ,heres a recepie from start to finish
#10 dry fly hook
thread yellow
deer hair post
tail -pheasant tail barbs 4-5
body-stacked and measured deer hair tied in at post tips facing tail deer hair surrounds shank  thread is palmered back to tail and palmered back again to post xing wraps (note-tips should flair out at tail begginning)
hackle-dark brown tied up post parachute style
thorax- tan - golden olive dubbing
whipped head
 i tied this pattern in a 6 streamer for my hex swap you can see a photo of it at hex swap photos
