I had the same problem for the last several weeks. I would try to log in and the browser window would open , but not "populate" - until a pop up opened up in a separate window. It seems like it used 100% of the processor resource,too. Locked up everything!
Bad news is : I never did figure out the actual cause. I had to reformat my machine and reinstall the OS ( Win XP and Ie6 on a cable modem connection). I tried everything : tweaking the browser settings. Ran virus software ( and didn't find anything) cleaned the registry, and ran every utility that I could find. I finally had to resort to reformatting my drives and reinstalling everything! Good News is: It worked! I can get in now.
