Just want to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Independence Day.
I second that and would like to also warn everyone to beware of fireworks. At the local fireworks display on Sunday night, one of our more intelligent citizens drove her pickup past the crowds and parked in an open field much closer than the rest of us (we were actually closer than i like to be). She sat on a wheel-well with her 2-yr old watching the fireworks. One particularly big rocket was launched - it shook the ground as it went up - you could see the faint trail. It went up and up and up and the trial disappeared. It never went off. About 10 seconds later we heard the big thump as it hit the bed of the pickup and went off IN THE BED! Luckily, the mother and her 2-yr-old were thrown out of the truck and not burned.
She is saying that the rocket was launched horizontally straight at them! Of course I assume her plans are to make that the basis of a lawsuit.
