I have heard of people using audio cassette tape and VCR tape for wingcases. There's no reason floppies couldn't be used.
Maybe a floppy and flip flop (AKA foam sandal) popper is about to be hatched?

but speaking of floppies (Ed, this is ff-related!) -- did someone ever try to use floppy disks as tying material? I'm speaking of the magnetic disk, which is in the case. Maybe usefull for wingcases or similar..
