Gee, if Most folks in Oregon seem to hate folks from California that much. I'll start a campaign to enlighten Californians as to just how dis-liked we are in Oregon. We'll all save you folks in Oregon this discomfort of coming into your state; since we will all know how much you dislike all of us.

We'll take fishing trips to other places, so you Oregonians will not have to suffer our presence. We will Spend all our Money in Other Places.... Would that make everyone in Oregon happy???????

<>< If Californians took their fishing trips elsewhere, that would make a lot of local flyfishers VERY APPRECIATIVE! I have seen sites on the Deschutes go from having 9 cars (or so) parked in a rustic area to nearly an average of 30. Hosmer Lake turns into a circus during July and August. This is progress? These numbers may be the norm for Califonia flyfishing, but believe me, we don't need that. We have more than enough people here already to keep 14 flyshops (within a 60-mile circle) in business.

Flyfishing, BTW, is low priority tourism bucks compared to the big draws here in Central Oregon...skiing at Mt. Bachelor, golfing at the 21 area golf courses, white water rafting down the Deschutes (one local rafting outfitter alone owns 25 vans and buses to handle the customer load during the summer).

The place you most often see a photo of someone flyfishing is in a real estate ad. *sigh*

Realistically, this is an area where people visit because of the attractions, not because they want to shower us with California dollars. It would be different if there nothing here to offer, but Oregon, like California, is a beautiful place that is getting loved to death.
