I have caught afew my self, In the White mountains of Calif. DFG closed the stream to fishing. the stream is about 7000 ft. Most places you could jump across, and there were some Beaver ponds. Fished with telico nymphs,sandjaun worms, wooly worms, Drys- any hooper pattern.

    Very good call there... They are PAIUTE CUTTHROAT....
 
 Have no fear, I NEVER eat Native trout (or Wild Trout for that matter.)  Haven't killed and aten a Trout for over 14 years... However I still have a sweet tooth for Brook Trout... 
 
  I always carry plenty of Freeze dried food on my trips...
