Thanks to your comments, I was able to locate a new Okuma Magnitude ML 7/8 reel from eBay. Sinful buy at $65! This really is a very nice reel for the money, a wide-arbor, magnesium body model with a ball-bearing drag.
I want to get a LOT more serious about how I set and test the drag on my reels. I basically set the drag by feel. There has got to be a better way?
Do the listers know of very specific techniques and tests to determine the best drag setting for the tippets and rod used? I vaguely recall reading some instructions, but obviously wasn't paying attention!
