Keep in mind that Steve does the majority of his fishing from the bank/dock. He doesn't have the advantage of wading a stream like you and me. He has challenge enough, just fishing from a wheel chair. Again, I'm for anything that will improve his enjoyment and catch ratio.
Even with the depth/fish finders on my bass boat, after I find the fish, I still have to catch them. Therein lies the challenge. Trout fishermen can equate this to seeing the dimple of a "rise" on the surface and flicking a fly toward it. In any event, the guy with the depth finder finds fish with his depthfinder and the fly fisher finds fish from watching for "rises" or sight fishing.
The challenge remains and a great challenge it is. Finding them is one thing. Catching them is something else. In my book the two methods produce the same results. We find fish! I do not see anything unsporting about either.
My 2 cents worth.

Hi Folks, Could I ask for a show of hands? There’s something about fish-finders that makes me cringe. Somehow they seem kind of unsporting because they peel back the mystery that makes fishing fun. In general I’d say that fly-fishing offers great rewards in large part because it’s more challenging. Doesn’t sonar technology remove some of that challenge and lessen the reward? Maybe I’m all wet (like the last time I fell in the river) but I really like getting AWAY from all the gizmos while I’m fishing. Whaddaya think… you gonna get one? Should they be banned from protected waters? Mark ===== Mark Klemick ! GoFishGo ! [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
