I used Grape Kool-Aid to dye a 4 ft piece of white rabbit (zonker strip) over the weekend.

The original material was snow white, including the hide. The results were less than desireable.

The color is a brownish purple (if you can imagine that) and the hide shrunk to half its original width and is a bit hard.

I used two packets of unsweetened Kool-Aid in 12 oz of water with 4 oz of white vinegar. Stove top at just below the boiling point.

While this method may work for feathers, I was not pleased with rabbit fur.
