Your in our prayers, we had one 3 years ago get to within 1/4 mile of our
place then just died out.

First Off, thank you Dave,Ed & Deb for support, as well as Joyce...I hope
they get your fire out soon Joyce... I , too, worry about the little
animals...but they always seems to be alright.
The morning Sky is that off yellow/orange..from the Smoke columns.. There
was some sort of Ash Rain over the night because there is alot of ash on
everything outside the house... bizarre looking to see everything getting a
uniform grey...
Driving to & from the Fly Shop is an adventure...the 118 fwy to & from Simi
Valley is closed at the Santa Susanna Pass... so everyone wanting to go to
or leave Simi Valley drives south down the 23 fwy to the 101 Fwy. (Ventura
Fwy) so the 101 is nothing but a long skinny parking lot that never moves
faster then 15 miles an hour...if that fast. Not to worry, I head south to
the MullHulland Highway in the Santa Monica Mountians & drive almost all the
way to the shop... A winding Mountian Road...but I've driven it for years..
The Forest Service has closed all access points into the National Forests
around here as a procaution to avoiding any more fires.. Guess I'll just
fish the Surf til we get rain... There is a constant smoke/cloud formation
over most of the area... Friends/Customers coming into the Shop yesterday
wearing Bandanas & those fiber filtering masks.. You certianly do not want
to breath too much of that stuff...
Although i did catch a small leaf that was drifting down from the smoke
columns in the palm of my hand.. the detail was really good, you could see
all of the leaf structure. the only thing different was that the leaf was
all grey. it turned into dust with a push of my finger....
Things are Ok, we SoCal folks are fairing well... considering there are
10 sperate Brushfires burning in Southern California. they say the
astronauts can see the fires from space.
All I can say is thanks for the Support from you folks...& I honestly think
they do not pay Firemen/ Firewomen enough money.....

p.s.= I have a great report to give you from the Low O trip... can you say
"Big Brown, Dinky Fly"???????
