Given the time I spend fishing - I only use hooks I am confident wont bend or break. So they have to be Chemically sharpened good quality steel
I have lost fish to both... I hate losing fish to equipment failure..
For weighted nymphs and bead heads Kamasan B830.
Wets B175 Kamsans again
Small dries I typically use Kamsan's Whisker Barb series (cant remember the number).
Large Terrestrials, I prefer an up eye dry fly hook .. Kamsan again..
For Midges and Egg flies.. I prefer the Black Magic G series hooks.. heavy guage scud hook..
For Lures Black Magic B series. ( a 2xl down eye heavy guage..)
I'd happily use Tiemcos, Daiichi or Dairiki... just not easily availabe nearby...
PS does anyone know the Tiemco, Daiich equiv, Dairiki equiv of the B830... round bend 1XL down eye...
