For commercial tying and for my
own use, Tiemco and Daiichi. Both make good strong sharp hooks. I
used to use Mustad, and still have a bunch, which I use for the classes I
teach --they're fine for "practice". But I found that Mustad's
quality control is poor. In almost every box of 100 hooks I find at least
3-4 that are misshapen in some way. This hardly ever happens with the
Tiemcos or Daiichis.
