Mine's an '84 Toyota first generation 4Runner. Took out the driver side backseat to provide a space to spread out a sleeping bag and pad if I want to. Also built a platform about 6 inches high that allows me to stash miscellaneous gear, nets, tools, wading staff, as well as a couple of those low, flat Rubber Maid type containers underneath. It's always got a tent, sleeping bag, extra clothes, water, some MRE's, etc. Rods fit under the platform on the driver side where the backseat used to be.
The 4wd drive allows to me go out and get stuck in places I couldn't get to in a regular truck. I'm hoping to put in a brush guard and winch in the next year or so. I'm probably going to "give" it to my son sometime soon if his grades improve enough for him to get his DL <G>. Will probably go back to my other fishing rig, my '70 Jeepster Commando when that happens.
Take care and good fishing, all. Drive carefully.
The River-
You passers-by who share my journey,
You move and change, I move and am the same;
You move and are gone, I move and remain.
