What kind of question is this ????
Guess I will give it a try. Being disabled, ( Politically correct for
"Broken"), whatever I can. Am, ( or at least "was" until the heart attack),
a licensed pilot, working towards a commercial bush pilot rating, ( read,
"Crazy enough to fly into places smoke jumpers are scared of). Still do a
bit of Aerial Photography with a friend, ( Yes I still fly the plane), am
also a licensed A&P, ( Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic that means if I
bend it, I can fix it). Have just recently taken the reigns of a 30 year old
Aircraft Salvage business, ( stripping and selling parts for Piper, Cessna
and Beachcraft planes). Am building a good reputation for straightening
"Bent" compound curves" and making high dollar spinners and cowlings look
new again. Am working on a couple of contracts to supply aircraft parts to
homebuilt aircraft dealers, designing and building my own "Bush Plane" and
otherwise trying to stay alive.
Back to the question, mainly support it by trading stuff I have for
stuff I need, ( Of course if I get the Bush Plane built I can Haul Jimmy D.
and Don O. to secret fishing places with Tony S. as a copilot), That ride
should net me enough, ( after I split with Tony), for several years
materials just for getting them on the ground in one piece....8-).
Jimi, ( dreaming of big fish on small streams in Alaskan Outback)
I warned ya'll that I'd be harassing the lists while I recuperate from
surgery. So far, I've been a "good boy" and haven't really got onto
anyone's nerves, except maybe DonO, who's aggravated because he didn't
think of all these neat things I've done lately. But, that's OK. As
great and wonderful as DonO is, he didn't invent me.
So, for my latest endeavor I'm asking one simple question of you. What
do you do for a living? Better put would be, how do you support your
fly fishing habit. I know many of you on the lists and also know what
kind of work you do. They're all interesting. With the numbers of us on
these three lists, I daresay we cover most all occupations. I think it
would be interesting to all to see the varied occupations. And Byard,
Chris, and Bill, this is Fly Fishing related. LOL
You can answer this on list or off list, your choice. But, please
answer. I'll compile a composite like I did for our fishing vehicles.
Have A Great Day!
JIMMY D
