JANET.
I ALSO TIE PROFESSIONALLY.PROBLEM IS FEW BUYERS IN KENYA AFRICA WHERE AM BASED.WHAT IS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH MARKETING TO SHOPS?
PAUL

I've never really had to do much marketing.  When I started in the late 70's there weren't so many import flies around, demand was high, and there were very few people tying commercially.   I made sure to keep my quality high and my prices low, and word of mouth pretty much took care of advertising.  I still tie for some shops I started with over 25 years ago.  Much of my business is in local (regional Northwest)  patterns that the shops can't get from the big catalog suppliers.
I don't know what to tell you about your situation there in Kenya.  But I do almost all my business by mail order, as I live "out in the boondocks", and the nearest fly shops are about 40 miles away---most further.
    Good luck.  Don't give up!
