Oh, I think I understand what you're saying, Gary. I was just addressing the "complicated" comment. I've never had a trout hit popcorn, corn, or a spinnerbait with a rubber skirt full of colors not found in nature either. ;-) On the other hand, I've heard of all sorts of things from cig butts to acorns found in the bellies of trout, so who knows?

It's as simple or as complicated as we want it to be, I guess.

True Monte. Same game, but I don't rememer ever having a largemouth bass jump on a hook that had nothing but a single layer of thread on the shank. :o)

Hey Gary,

1. A fish.
2. Fly/Lure presented to fish
3. Fly/Lure attracts fish (as a food form, a threat, curiosity, whatever)
4. Fish accepts or rejects fly/lure.
5. Fish on! (or not)

It's all the same game. We just screw around with #s 2 and 3 quite a bit. :-)
