Most of what Jimi wrote in his story about me in the Dallas Morning news was true, but a few things need clarification. I didn't use the Warn 32 winch, it was a Stearman airplane engine I lifted out of Jimi's airplane shop, so that he wouldn't keep bragging about flying DonO, Alan and me to the Bush in Alaska. You see, Jimi's Stearman engine was to go into the Beaver that he was going to fly us up there in. And. since Stearman engines are practically nonexistant nowadays, he couldn't be the Big Dog Bush Pilot he's been bragging about for the last two years. The boat trailer was 60 feet long and that was for my 55 foot Cigarette boat, which my VFB Tournament Bass team consisting of 20 hooligan VFB members and I use to bass fish on Lake Powell. Jimi got it all wrong about the bass too. It was 250 pounds which was absurd for a 31 inch largemouth. When we got to the dock to weigh it, there was the shape of a large anvil in the fishes belly. I suspect that Dono had something to do with that, but what the hell was DonO doing at Lake Powell. I didn't know DonO was a scuba diver either. He must have been hiding out and when I hooked that monster bass, swam qickly to it and shoved the anvil into its belly. I know for a fact that he's been out in the Wyoming boonies making gas. LOL Someone must have squealed on me and my team. By the way, we don't call hogs in Texas, we eat'em. Jimi, you surprise me. I thought you knew the difference in a razorback and a longhorn. As for my Cigarette Bass boat, I heard that it was last seen being towed by a ratty Toyota or Datsun pick up by a swarthy looking character that sounded suspiciously like Jimi. Now after reading the story, my suspicions are correct. When stopped by the New Mexico State Police who confiscated my boat and called me, Jimi told them that he was on his way to Elephant Butte Lake in Southern New Mexico and that I'd loaned him my boat. Jimi, you didn't have to steal my boat and trailer. I would have gladly loaned it to you. Hell, I would have even loaned you my new Hummer to pull it with. What are friends for anyway.

Now that I've set the record straight, I'm going to bed. ;-)

Nite All!!

Not quite right,
   Story goes something like,
"Man from Waco Texas hooks record Bass on fly Rod. Unable to "Lip" the
brut, Jimmy D drug the fish to the docks where he used his "Warn" 32 volt
Texas Boat Winch to haul the fish onto his custom 48' bass boat trailer.
While attempting to bring the fish out of the water the presure exerted by
the boat rails of the trailer caused the "Record Largemouth" to expel some
of it's stomach contents. Some of the "Contents" included a Coleman 3 burner
camp stove, 6 "Plano" tournament series tackle boxes, 4 "Igloo" 64 quart ice
chests and a front fender from a 1932 Desoto with a "Mint" Zippo lighter
wedged in the mounting bracket. Mr. Moore said that the rest of the stuff
was fine but the "Zippo" should bring a good price at the annual "Bass Story
and Hog Calling" contest held at the "Chest Deep" club in Austin, ( an
"Exclusive" by Membership only club of "Capitol BS Preparations). Mr. Moore
reported that he would be back on the 80 Acre lake in the morning trying to
recover his trailer and custom 1978 Kenworth, (Used to haul the "Small" bass
boat), which the "Champion" bass drug into the water from the boat dock."

Hope this clears up a few things for you folks...;-)
