I have a Furled Leader that tends to cast with a bit of a hook to the left, leaving me with unwanted slack. Considering that I am a left-handed caster, I thought it might have something to do with the line guides being set somewhat off spline/spine.
Your thoughts?

Neither. Follow Don Green and put them 90 degrees from spine/spline ;-)
