White has always been effective. Works for me a lot. One of my fsvorite 
placestouse it is on the Connaquote River on Long Island, N.Y. This is a 
spring creek and has a few very deep pools, (small lakes type places) at the 
lower end just before where it dumps into the Atlantic Ocean. YES! we ARE 
talking sea run trout.......browns that go over three ft. long, steelhead, 
and brookies. My largerst brookie so far was 4 lbs. 7 oz. My largest brown 
was 26 inches. But i have seen browns well over three ft. long in there, 
many times. White wolly buggers work just fine there, with a big bead, size 
2 is not at all to large. We fish this river up to three times a year, it is 
private and yet public. You have to pay to fish there, by session and on a 
beat. UNLESS, he he he he, you go with a club. Which is what we do, then, 
the whole river is reserved for your club for the day, and there are no 
beats. BIG FUN!!!!!!!! My last two times there i had a 50 and a 40 fish 
day(s). You'll get more brookies than anything, next rainbows, then 
browns...........always in that order. Ya gotta love it. mark

Ditto on the white zonker - mylar body+rabbit fur wing = 16" smallmouth a 
week ago.

    gold bead head, holo grapiic siler body, white marabou, four strands 
of pearl crystal flash. Also a white zonker.   Sucker meat flies.
