Mark,
thanks for your message. The trip will not be for another 2 years yet, but for the scale I am planning it is going to take a lot of organising. I love long distance driving especially through beautiful scenery which is why I have decided to combine a long long drive with fly fishing.
Regards
Chris

Hi Chris, i would have to agree with Wes on this one. You'll have a much nicer trip if you concentrate on say three states. California, Oregon and Wshington would be perfect. Or, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho. Montana would be one all of it's own. Beleve me, i've driven more miles than any 20 people you'll ever know, combined. Easily over a million, because it was my job to do that. I did 24K in 29 days once, 11K with one band, and 13 with another in under a month. But to much driving will ware you out, and you need to be fresh for your fishing, right? See there. LOL. Sure hope you have the best fishing trip of your life so far. I'm driving to Montana next Aug., maybe you'll be there? The FFF International Conclave is in West Yellowstone this year. Very near the Madison River, the Gallitin River and many others. Take Care, mark

ED, Edd, & Eddy,
How soon we forget in our old age! What about the great Trico &
Whitefly hatches. Our caddis and beloved BWW. If that isn't enough we
have hoppers, battles ants ECT. How about those vegetarian trout the
berry & twig eaters. Ed is right April thru July are the best. Good
dry fly action can be had as early as March.

I think you need to consider Michigan! Best dry fly would be
April-June. Mid-June - end of June in Michigan is hex season - BIG dry
flies in the dark! There are several VFBers who would be glad to host
you and show you the ropes!

Living would be easier if men showed as much patience at
home as they do when they're fishing.
