I haven't opened mine yet Iain. I'm waiting for Christmas. Leaves me a little something to look forward to. Reminds me of what Dexter Gordon used to sometimes say at the end of a set. "Yeess, i hope, we left you, with, a little something, to, take home, and put, under, your pillow." Maybe i'll take the package upstairs and put it under the bed til Christmas. Long tall Dexter. WHEW! Man, you had to be there. I was listening to his (i think) last recording today. Last band anyway........and the tune was "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." Damn............."takes me back." I saw/watched/listened/recorded/ ETC! him and that tune night after night at the Keystone Korner in S.F. back in the late 70's and '80, and it was an unbelieveable experience. Bright Moments! Keystone was his home away from home, from the time he came back from Europe and recorded "Home Comming" in '77 i think it was. He played the Vangaurd the first week back, and the Keystone the next week. And from that time on...............like i said, WHEW! Well, Merry Christmas. mark

Just got home and found an envelope from Iain in the mail. Could not wait till Xmas to open it. And what to my wondering eyes should appear but a GREAT selection of brightly coloured flies. My thanks to everyone who participated in this years Christmas swap. I can't wait to try some of the flies on my local waters. A special thanks to Iain for hosting another great swap. Someone contributed  a small fly with a red tail, yellow body and a dun hackle. Looks like a pattern that would serve me well for cutthroat fishing. I would like to hear from the tier who tied this pattern so I can learn more about it. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and an even Better New Year.
Merry Christmas
Mel
