Without a doubt, my best moments came right after Labor Day when seven good friends and I travelled to Philmont Scout Ranch for our annual week of fishing on the Rayado River. I had spent the previous spring recuperating from hernia surgery and re-habing my right foot all summer, in hopes of being well enough to wade once again. And wade, I did! Caught lots of nice rainbows and had the pleasure of being with good friends, having good food, drink and hearing lots of good fish tales at night.
