Picked up a new fishing book at the used book store yesterday. Title is "The Angler's Life" - Collecting and Traditions, by Laurence Sheehan, Photography by William Stites. This book gives an insight into some of our greatest fly fishers, including their equipment and best of all color photos of their "fishing rooms" and in some cases, other rooms of their homes, all of which are decorated in fly fishing decor. Some of the more notable photos in the book are: Charles Cotton's Fishing House, The Dove, Ginger Quill Camp on the Au Sable, Nick Lyons, Ernest Hemingway,(and his famous boat, the Pilar).

American Museum of Fly Fishing, Hoagy Bix Carmichael. Robert Traver, Ray Bergman are also mentioned along with many other legendary fly fishers. I dearly love this book, read it from cover to cover last night while sitting by our fireplace. It really transported me back in time. Just seeing photos of their fishing rooms and favorite rivers will hold me another week or two. ;-)

Only negative about the book is the price - $50 American, $75 Canada. I lucked out and got my "pristine" copy for $15.

Have a Great Day!
