I thought that I would pass on some of the things I have found during Christmas vacation back in Utah.  I won't bore you with my fishing stories but I did do good.

I will share a couple of things that you may find interesting.  I bought on the internet (Ebay)  a few flyboxes that I was tickled to get for a couple of bucks each.  They are very much like the small 6 compartment Meiho boxes selling for around $7.  I gave a couple to my son-in-law who I have infected with both flyfishing and flytying.  My daughter ruined the gift when she said "I saw those at Wal-Mart in the drug section (by the travel size items in our store) for 97 cents each.  Sure enough.  They are great little boxes.  Give them a look.

Next I was at Dillard's  Nice department store.  They had some gold angel hair.  I looked at it and it felt like fine wire and not glass.  It was $5.00 a pack.  However it was 50% off so I was thinking hard.  Then I saw a big wad of it.  The clerk said that she would give that to me for $2.50.  Since it looked like two or three boxes I bought it.   Well, it is very fine and will make great ribbing for small flies and even bodies for midges.   By the way, if you want a small supply I have more than either I or my son-in-law could ever use.  Send me a SASE and I will send you some.

Besides fish, I caught a cold and I am happy to get rid of it in the warmth of Hawaii.  Hope all of you have a great new year.

Mike
