I've been fishing the Potomac between Chain Bridge and Little Falls (about 3 or 4 miles upstream from the Lincoln Memorial for the out-of-towners.)
I understand that there's a good run on the Rappahannock at Fredericksburg, although I haven't fished it myself. I work downtown, so when the run is on, I can get in a few hours fishing between dawn and work if I go to Chain Bridge. It's the most awesome fishing I do all year.

Hi Marcus, I'm replying not in reference to join but where there are good shad waters near DC. I'm in Southern Ho. County in MD and other than Deer Creek which is 1:30 mins away, i can't think of any good place to go shad fishing......u know of any really good spots??
