Will you consider including hen capes the next go round? I'd like you to pick some gray and olive for my favorite patterns. What say you Listmeister?
Murf...
The Brahma Hen Capes (currently offered in he latest Co-Op) are indeed a smaller and more varied size range than the saddles, so they may fit your needs. The inclusion of the Chickabou portion is a nice addition and should add great movement to your bugger style ties.
My perplexion with Whiting is that they have so much variety that I can no longer go to their website and choose what would work best for my needs. They need many more pages of detailed high resolution shots.
Maybe LinesEnd will expand on their offering even if on a special order basis. Can you get some detailed shots and add more choices from Whiting Byard? I'm willing to wait for just the right pelt if you can provide the pictures.
Whiting Farms unquestionably breeds the "best" birds in the world and their diversity of product is immense. I can envision having a hundred pages of Whiting feathers just to show that diversity. It would also entail investing about a hundred thousand dollars to keep all those items in stock. Having sold Tom's feathers for a number of years now, I have decided it is much more feasible to maintain a stock supply of those items that I have found to be most popular. Following that current plan allows me to be able to ship more responsively and thus have happier customers. Be assured that we can supply ANY product available from Whiting in a reasonably short turn-around time. All you need do is ask...;^)
Regarding Deb's observation on the midge hackle from last year to this, I have from 2002 swap #26-28 hackle and if it got smaller in 2003 I'd have no way to use it. Also, my local TU (yes, I'm joining) chapter had a tyer showing me the midge packs and he said Whiting would no longer carry the tiny ones due to cost. Any word DonO, Byard, anybody?
Haven't heard that rumor yet Murf...but I certainly would not dispute it's validity. I used to stock the size 22 and 24 100 packs, but found they were very slow sellers. While we are always happy to special order them, it really is not feasible for us to keep them in stock.
