Not my observation.  I can't remember who typed that off hand.  I wasn't in on last years midge swap so I joined this year.  I did pluck the cape he referred to though and it did have a lot of feathers!!  Some of them were thread thin.  I think everyone got at least one of these feathers.   Most of them were probably more average midge size.   Next time Hans digs out those size 32 hooks you'll all be prepared now!

Regarding Deb's observation on the midge hackle from last year to this, I have from 2002 swap #26-28 hackle and if it got smaller in 2003 I'd have no way to use it.  Also, my local TU (yes, I'm joining) chapter had a tyer showing me the midge packs and he said Whiting would no longer carry the tiny ones due to cost.  Any word DonO, Byard, anybody?
