Hi Steve, Well, both are correct. According to Merriam-Webster, "tyer" is a variant of "tier." Even though the word "tier" is pronounced differently depending on the usage of the word: 1. a row, rank, or layer of articles; especially : one of two or more rows, levels, or ranks arranged one above another b : a group of political or geographical divisions that form a row across the map <the southern tier of states> this version rhymes with "steer." 2. ti·er : one that ties Ah-ha! The one we want. I, for one, am going to go with "tyer." -Monte Tyer of flies, in fact so many flies that my boxes are arranged in tiers on my bookshelves.
